Bob, what a trip with your family to be always remembered as a great time together and such a wonderful gift to your grandchildren (even though they may not yet realize it).

I envy you the snow ice cream but not the cold weather. I remember snow ice cream on those rare occasions when sufficient amounts of snow fell to make it possible in Arkansas when I was young. My dad would wear his overcoat and get as near as possible to our wood-burning heater while eating such a delicious treat.

What a great memory for all of you. A few years ago my mother in law took all of her children, grand children, and me to Australia--where she spent her young adult years--and where she met and married her husband during WW II. We saw where she and her family lived and the church she and Bill were married in. We met a long time friend of her's. We climbed to the top of Sydney Harbor Bridge. We got up before dawn to see the sun rise on the Big Red Rock. We snorkeled on the Great Barrier Reef. It was the trip of a lifetime.

Even though our children had heard the stories and seen photos of Australia, their lives were enriched beyond belief at being able to stand with their grand mother and hear her tell them, "This is where we used to swim. This is where I caught the bus." It was something they will never forget.

Thanks Bob for reminding me of just how important it is to share family history in such a wonderful way. The children were enriched ..and so were you!

Bob, I knew the excitement you and Janelle were anticipating when you told me of this Grand planned adventure. So glad it lived up to expectations. I do hope you'll have a photo or two to share in April. Your description of the area you were in reminded me of my futherest north trip to Boyne Highlands,MI
