Thank you very much for remembering and, more importantly, reminiscing with my dad. He appreciated more than he let on. Dad's always building something; even though we had two-car garages, at least one car was always outside. He built all my sister's bedroom furniture, then built a two-passenger airplane (not a model); he flew that for a while then donated it to SMoF. His attention to detail is amazing and he thinks on a grand scale: the USS Alabama model is 7 feet long, the Enterprise is 11 feet, and the Birmingham is 12 feet. I think one of my first memories was of Benjamin Russell High School; I seem to remember being in his classroom once or twice, but of course I was only 2 or 3. And I think I remember somebody's car running over my ball outside the apartment building we lived in. Anyway...
Thanks for remembering Dad so fondly.
