    Getting bogged down

I often “do things” and never accomplish any real results.

I remember the story about the motorist in West Alabama who drove into a service station one day and asked for 10 gallons of gas. Immediately, three station attendants sprang into action. One did the old traditional windshield wipe, another checked the tires, and the third filled the radiator with coolant. When they were finished, the driver paid his bill and drove off.

Just a few minutes later he returned with a worried look on his face. “Did any of you actually put gas in my car?” he asked. The three workers looked at each other, consulted and then admitted very meekly that nobody had.

I have personally seen community support put to good use, even in times when people may feel “bogged down.”

It’s easy to get bogged down with “things.” We can have good intentions, but, somehow, never find the convenient time to get “things” done. Still, many fail to see the numerous doors of opportunity opened virtually every day.

I have personally seen community support put to good use, even in times when people may feel “bogged down.” There are compelling reasons to support the Alabama Humanities Foundation. Your gifts will be returned many times over, and will benefit folks in all corners of the state of Alabama through our many AHF programs.
