John C. Knapp, University Professor and Mann Family Professor of Ethics and Leadership at Samford University, served on the Georgia Humanities Council Board of Directors prior to moving from Atlanta to Birmingham in 2008. He is founding director of the new Frances Marlin Mann Center for Ethics and Leadership, a university-wide resource supporting teaching, scholarship and service. Previously, he was professor and director of the Center for Ethics and Corporate Responsibility at Georgia State University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wales, a master's from Columbia Theological Seminary and a bachelor's from Georgia State.
